DAVID DIRKS

 

David Dirks is an Instructor in the College of Business at the Denver campus of Johnson & Wales University.  He teaches accounting and serves as the coordinator for the CMA Exam Review Course program in Denver.  His teaching specialty areas are financial accounting and reporting.  Professor Dirks is a Certified Public Accountant who spent over thirty years in public accounting, starting with a then “Big Eight” firm and ending as a shareholder in his own CPA firm, Heider, Tanner & Dirks, Inc.

 

Dave Dirks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from DePauw University in Indiana and a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Indiana University. He was named College of Business Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year in 2007.

 

 

JEFF GILBERT

 

Jeff Gilbert is an Assistant Professor and head of the Entrepreneurship area in the College of Business at Johnson & Wales University – Denver Campus.   He is also in charge of the Small Business Development Center operation located at JWU – Denver.  He teaches entrepreneurship, finance and accounting courses.  Prior to joining the JWU faculty, Professor Gilbert worked in banking and with various franchise businesses.  He and his wife currently operate a small business in Evergreen, CO.

 

Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Western Washington University and he has a Masters degree in Business Administration from theUniversity of Phoenix.

 

 

JOHN MEREDITH

 

John Meredith is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Johnson & Wales University – Denver Campus.  He is the lead faculty member for the management area. He specializes in the subjects of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and financial systems and reporting.  Prior to joining the College of Business faculty, Professor Meredith spent thirty years as an executive in private industry with such companies as Armour, B. F. Goodrich and Greyhound Lines.

 

John holds an undergraduate degree in business from The Ohio State University and an MBA degree.

 

KEN TADIKONDA

 

Ken Tadikonda is Controller for the Denver Campus of Johnson & Wales University. Prior to assuming this position, he was an Assistant Professor in the College of Business. He has taught most of the accounting courses offered in the curriculum and selected finance and economics courses as well.  His specialty areas are Intermediate, Cost and Managerial Accounting.  Prior to joining the JWU faculty, Professor Tadikonda taught at Regis University and worked in private industry here in the U.S., in Australia and in his native India.

 

Ken holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Osmania University in India and a Master of Business Administration degree from Regis University.

 

 

MIKE VANDER KOOI

 

Mike Vander Kooi is an Associate Professor and accounting area head at in the College of Business at Johnson & Wales University – Denver Campus.  He has taught a variety of accounting courses; his area of specialty is financial accounting and reporting.  Prior to starting his teaching career at Johnson & Wales, Professor Vander Kooi worked in private industry in the fields of banking and finance.  He also has experience in the not-for-profit area, with a performing arts group.

 

Mike has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Calvin College, a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Colorado State University.
